Susan graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from UCLA. She received her JD from Loyola Law School, Los Angeles, was admitted to the State Bar of California, and was appointed and then elected twice to the Santa Monica Rent Control Board, serving as Chair for several years.

A resident of the Bay Area for 14 years now, Susan has over 40 years of experience in education; she was the director of (and sole college counselor for) a rigorous, independent, college-preparatory high school for nearly 30 years and a Master/Senior Admissions Consultant at the Bay Area's largest educational consulting company.
